The Colley

June 27, 2024

For over a year Electric Road have been working with theteam from the - then Jetty Bar, and now - Colley Hotel. Our goal has been toreposition and elevate the brand to become the pre-eminent Hospitality precinctin South Australia.

Whilst this process is ongoing, we thought we would share a little bit about the journey so far, along with some of the wins we’ve had along the way.

After months of market research and client consultation, the decision was made to rename the iconic Jetty Bar. (If you find one of us after a couple of vinos, we might share some of the other names that were bandied around, that didn’t quite make it.…) With the changing face of consumer behaviour, and the evolution to the offering at what is now The Colley Hotel, it was time to bid farewell to the jetty bar, while maintaining some of the quintessential Australian charm the pub was renown for. The history books, and the suburbs, were full of prominent names and landmarks and this is how we found The Colley.

The new brand needed to feel like a coastal classic. A font strong enough to stand on its own, colours that spoke to prominence, the promenade, the seas, and the precinct’s interior. We wanted the logo to bring together the modern accents (that we were starting to see within the hotel during construction), a strong logotype, and a modern complementary font.

With the brand completed we began to elevate their socials. Shifting the brand tone of voice and undertaking multiple production shoots acted as brand extensions and visually reinforced the “new look”. We wanted to promote the stellar, newly renovated events space out the back of the precinct and showcase the incredible food out the front.

Next came the website, where we were tasked with building out a platform to allow for future developments (stay tuned) and to showcase the precinct’s current offering.

What’s next for The Colley? The team behind the Colley are looking to build on the success of Molly’s (upstairs at The Colley) and have plans to continue to develop the whole precinct. This will be a process, and one we’re very happy to be along for the ride of.
